Juvenile offenders work to clean up graffiti (Nampa, ID): Despite the extensive racially charged graffiti found at Wilson's Pond last week, Caldwell and Nampa say the amount of graffiti seen in the cities hasn't increased. On Aug. 19, more than 45 gang tags were spray painted onto benches, a brick wall and asphalt in the area around Wilson's Pond. The Canyon County Parks Department, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and volunteers worked throughout the week to cover or remove the graffiti.

Gang member, 18, charged in Caldwell robbery and beating (Caldwell, ID): A documented gang member is facing charges after police say he was part of a group who robbed and beat a victim after luring him into a Caldwell home last month. Eighteen-year-old Gabriel Jose Rendon of Caldwell is charged with robbery and a possible sentencing enhancement for committing a felony crime with intent to promote gang activity.

The agency's Bureau of Justice Statistics released the report Tuesday. It examined the effect of juvenile facilities on sex abuse rates.
