Fresno update on gang related shooting operation (Fresno, CA): Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer held a news conference Wednesday after at Fresno Police Headquarters. The purpose was to update the public on an operation launched in July that was focused on the increased number of shooting in the City of Fresno. There has been 507 shootings to date in Fresno this year and 55 murders. Of those 55, 29 have either a gang member as a suspect and/or the victim.

Gang member gets 16 years for shooting into Springs apartment building (Sonoma, CA): A Sonoma man has been sentenced to 16 years in state prison for shooting into the home of a rival gang member last March. David Wade Morgan III, 27, plead no contest to felony charges of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, as well as the crime of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Lindsay gang member sentenced to life in prison (Tulare County, CA): Lindsay's "Grinch" could spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of gang-related crimes, including murder. On Wednesday, Judge Michael Sheltzer sentenced Roberto Saldana, 28 of Lindsay, to 56-years-to-life in prison. Saldana was found guilty numerous crimes by a jury on Oct. 12.

Police: Gang member hid gun in kitchen to avoid arrest at 5th Quarter (Tulare County, CA): A known gang member is in jail after police said he tried to hide a loaded gun in the kitchen of a Visalia sports bar. Employees of 5th Quarter called police just after midnight concerned by gang activity in the bar. This was the second incident at a Visalia bar this week.
