Shooting leaves two men dead (Las Vegas, NV): Two men in their 30s were fatally shot in an area of Las Vegas police believe is prone to gang violence. Police are hoping that a third surviving victim will be able to provide some information as to what occurred.

Teen shot in throat (Bradenton, FL): A 15-year-old boy was wounded in an alleged gang-related drive-by shooting, police said. Injuries to the boy were not considered life-threatening and suspect information has not yet been released. Police believe this shooting is unrelated to an earlier incident in the same East Bradenton neighborhood in which one man was killed and three were injured. Police suspect drug dealers from Oneco and Bradenton are involved in a turf war.

Man wounded in gang-related shooting (California): A man was critically wounded outside a gas station located at Sunset Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway. According to reports, four males drove up, exchanged gang signs with the victim, then opened fire. Police said that the shooting was apparently gang-related.

Gang crimes on the upswing (Thousand Oaks, CA): Once considered one of the nation's safest cities, Thousand Oaks, California, has seen numerous crimes and gang activity in the past few months, prompting the City Council to spend $180,000 for a community prosecutor specializing in gang violence. About a decade ago, gang violence hit a peak in Thousand Oaks, but had dropped for several years. Now it is on the rise again, according to police.

Teenage siblings; Shots entered an apartment in Portland (Portland, KY): A 14-year-old boy and his 18-year-old sister were injured in a drive-by shooting that occurred during a family gathering. Both were taken to a local hospital and the wounds were not considered life-threatening. Police did not dislose any other information regarding the shooting.

Man, 18, slain in apparent gang shooting (Friant, CA): Fresno County deputies are looking for suspects in the shooting death of an 18-year old man. The alleged gang-related shooting occurred at Lost Lake Park where the victim and some friends were fishing. Some men approached them, asked what they claimed, and then opened fire. Authorities said at least two Asian men left the park after the shooting.

Two teens charged in series of shootouts (St. Paul, MN): Two teenagers, ages 15 and 17, were arrested for their alleged involvement in two drive-by shootings attacking the same victim. Police believe the 18-year old male victim was first shot during the day, treated and released from the hospital, and then shot again that night by the suspects in the earlier shooting. A third shooting is being investigated to see if there is any connection with the other two incidents. Police are saying that all incidents may involve rival gangs: the Selby Sides and the Lowertown Gangsters or Lowertown Thugs. The 17-year old was charged with one count of participating in a drive-by shooting and two counts of second-degree assault. The 15-year-old was charged with second-degree rioting and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Man shot to death at mall in Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA): In Carlsbad's first homicide of the year, a 21-year-old male was fatally shot in an alleged gang-related shooting outside a mall. Three of four suspects have been detained by police, who say that the four were arguing with the victim before the shooting. No credible witnesses were avaliable for questioning.

Pub damaged in drive-by shooting (Southeast, NY): A neighborhood bar in the town of Southeast, New York, was shot at several times in an apparent drive-by shooting, authorities said. Nobody was injured and the investigation is ongoing.

Two injured in Dorchester shooting (Dorchester, MA): According to police, two men in their early 20s sitting with friends on the porch of a Dorchester residence were critically injured in an apparent drive-by shooting. Police say that there is evidence of an exchange of gunfire, but a motive has not been determined and no arrests have been made.

Two shot around Frontier diner (Fort Sumner, NM): Two men, ages 20 and 25, were shot at a local diner when an argument turned into a shooting. Both men were listed in stable condition at a local hospital. Some of the males that were involved in the argument fled the scene in a vehicle. The shift manager of the diner said that the incident was gang-related, but Albuquerque PD's Southeast Impact Team would not confirm that it was. No arrests have been made.

Man wounded in drive-by shooting (Valencia Park, CA): A 25-year-old man walking down a Valencia Park street with three friends was wounded in a drive-by shooting. Police said, as the victim approached a car, a front seat passenger attempted to shoot him, but his gun apparently jammed. A man in the rear seat then pulled out a gun and fired at least five times. The victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

People in lake shooting tied to same gang (Charlotte, NC): Police have confirmed that the suspects involved in the shooting at Copperhead Island Park were members or affiliates of the Salvadoran gang Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13). Three of the five suspects have been jailed, while two others are still being sought by police. The age of the suspects range between 20 to 27. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have expressed renewed concern for MS-13 activities, saying they have become increasingly violent. A gang database lists 176 out of 652 suspected gang members or associates as being affiliated with MS-13.

16-year-old boy shot to death waiting for bus in Minneapolis (Minneapolis, MN): A 16-year-old boy waiting for a bus in north Minneapolis was killed in a drive-by shooting. A van pulled up, and the victim exchanged words with several people in the van. The van drove off but returned within minutes, when shots were fired from it. A community patrol worker said the dead boy had been getting into gang-related fights while attending North High School and had changed schools recently to avoid trouble. No arrests have been made, but police say that there are several good leads and that there may be a connection between this incident and another shooting that occurred the previous night.

Middle school student shot on way to class (Delhi, CA): In what police believe was a gang-related attack, two unidentified males allegedly shot a 13-year-old boy walking to class with a friend. The injuries to the boy were not life-threatening. The shooting took place in a parking lot at the Delhi Education Park after the boy and the two suspects exchanged words.

Gang member shot in head (Torrington, CT): Police are investigating an alleged gang-related attack in which a 27-year-old man was believed to have been shot while sitting in a parked car in his driveway. The suspect, a 26-year-old male, and the victim are both members of local rival gangs. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, and criminal possession of a firearm. Police have not yet determined the motive of the attack.
