Anti-gang grant bill has wide support (Yakima, WA): A Democratic proposal for a statewide, anti-gang grant program is enjoying bipartisan support heading into a public hearing in the House next week. House Bill 2432 would have the state Partnership Council on Juvenile Justice award grants locally to fund projects focused on criminal street gang prevention and intervention.

Four arrests in connection with gang shooting in Clearfield (Clearfield, UT) : Two teenagers and two adults who police say were involved in a Jan. 6 gang-related shooting have been arrested. "Over the course of several days following the shooting, Clearfield detectives worked tirelessly to apprehend two males and two juvenile males believed to be responsible for the shooting of Darrell Morris," said Lt. Medford law enforcement sheds light on gangs (Medford, OR): Law enforcement agencies joined together with Southern Oregon University to shed light on the severity of gang activity. Officers say in 2010, there were more than 400 gang-related cases. In 2011, it jumped to 642. There are 12 known gangs in Southern Oregon.
