Police: Second gang member arrested for possessing gun (Wichita Falls, TX): Wichita Falls police have arrested a second known gang member in as many days as he purchased a handgun at Academy Sports. On Thursday, officers received information that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was running a background check on 23-year-old Stefon Craig Jackson, who was trying to purchase a handgun.

Known gang member arrested after buying handgun (Wichita Falls, TX): A known gang member was arrested Wednesday after officers observed him purchasing a handgun. Jarrett Landon Hendricks, 28, is charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and violating a court order. He was out of Wichita County Jail Thursday afternoon on $2,000 total bail.

FBI making push to capture gang member on Most Wanted list (Houston, TX): The FBI is making a push to capture an alleged Mexican gang member with ties to Texas who is on the 10 Most Wanted list. This week, agents released a video and audio recording looking for help in finding Eduardo "Tablas" Ravelo, who is described as a captain in the Barrio Azteca gang operating in the Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas areas.

Four gang members charged in home invasions, sex assault (Houston, TX): Four gang members described by law enforcement officers as menaces to society have been arrested and charged, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo announced Tuesday morning. The suspects are linked to at least 10 cases in west and southwest Houston, including five home invasions and at least three robberies, Acevedo said.

Arrest made in Dyer Street fight (El Paso, TX): The El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit arrested a man after a fight in Central El Paso Tuesday afternoon. El Paso County constables were driving on the 4700 block of Dyer Street just after 2 p.m. when they saw two groups fighting, police said. The constables saw that one of the men had a handgun.

Reputed gang member convicted in drug case (El Paso, TX): A reputed Sureños gang member was convicted on several drug trafficking-related charges. Carlos “Chapo” Dorado, who was arrested after a nearly three-year investigation by several law enforcement agencies, was found guilty by a jury Tuesday of one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and two counts of selling, distributing or dispensing a controlled substance.

Interim Dallas Police Chief Plans Crackdown On Gangs (Dallas, TX): 2017 has started with an overall decline in crime for Dallas. Monday, the Dallas City Council Public Safety Committee received crime statistics for the beginning of the year. Property and personal crimes combined show a decrease of 3.31 percent overall. Violent crime stats, compared to same period in 2016, increased by 5.72 percent, but those figures reveal a criminal contrast.
