De’Earlvion Whitley, remembered as a boy with a big heart who loves football, was killed after gunmen fired 65 shots into his home on July 19, 2017.

Fort Worth police create violent crime task force in response to park shooting (Fort Worth, TX): The Fort Worth Police Department created a violent crime task force in response to a shooting at a crowded park where five people were injured, the department said Monday. On May 10, five people were hurt during a shooting at Village Creek Park in southeast Fort Worth, where more than 400 people had gathered despite restrictions on crowds during the coronavirus pandemic. The police department determined the shooting was gang-related.
