WoMen Rise aims to steer youth away from gangs (Abbotsford, BC): A group formed in Abbotsford last year is taking a positive approach to stemming gang violence and other issues in the community. WoMen Rise (formerly WoMen on the Rise) is organized by a group of women, men and youth from all walks of life – some of whom have sons and daughters involved in drugs and gangs – who want to deter young people from going down the wrong path.

Jurors in Greensboro double-murder trial say man followed them from parking deck; judge limits courtroom (Greensboro, NC): Threats to four jurors forced a judge Friday morning to restrict who can attend a murder trial involving a Bloods gang member. Each juror alerted bailiffs they had been followed from a parking area to the courthouse by a man dressed from head to toe in red — the color worn by members of the Bloods.

Cherry Hill 'Up Da Hill' gang member sentenced to life in prison (Baltimore, MD): A 26-year-old man nicknamed “Butt Juice” has been sentenced to life in prison for participating in the violent Cherry Hill street gang Up Da Hill, federal prosecutors say.

Alleged MS-13 gang member, charged with killing local teen, could face death penalty (Bedford County, VA): A judge has ruled that one of the alleged MS-13 gang members charged with murdering a local teenager could face the death penalty. Kevin Soto-Bonilla is one of six men accused of being a member of the MS-13 gang and charged in connection to the death of 17-year-old Raymond Wood in 2017.

Adult, Three Minors Arrested For Gang-Related Narcotics Sales Conspiracy, Loaded Firearms (Azusa, CA): The Azusa Police Department made multiple arrests for weapons and narcotics offenses in recent days. 2 Known Gang Members Arrested; Police Seize Weapons, Meth (Sacramento, CA): Two gang members have been arrested after a long-term investigation by the North Gang Enforcement Team in Sacramento. The gang officers are part of the Sacramento Police Department and identified Sacramento resident Francisco Flores as a validated gang member.
