Bryant Ruiz, 30, is accused in the Oct. 23 shooting of Brian Romo of San Diego, according to police.

MassachusettsFormer Member of New Bedford Latin Kings Chapter Pleads Guilty to Racketeering Conspiracy (Boston, MA): A former member of the New Bedford Chapter of the Massachusetts Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation (“Latin Kings”) pleaded guilty yesterday to racketeering and drug charges. Michael Marrero, a/k/a “King Clumsy,” 40, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to conduct enterprise affairs through a pattern of racketeering activity, more commonly referred to as RICO conspiracy.

New JerseyHanover charges 22 with graffiti damage estimated at $125,000 (Hanover, NJ): Nearly two dozen people are facing misdemeanor charges and thousands of dollars in restitution costs for tagging and damaging property with graffiti in the township during the past year. CaliforniaFresno police adding more resources to gang activity response team (Fresno, CA): The Fresno Police Department is adding resources to its multi-gang enforcement unit. The number of officers on that team is being doubled to focus solely on illegal gang activity in the city. Fresno police say the additional personnel in that unit will provide pro-active patrols and seven-day-a-week coverage to combat crime connected to gang members.

OklahomaJudge to rule Thursday on Green Country lawyer’s fate, crimes involving prison gang leader (Tulsa, OK): A Green Country attorney will find out Thursday if he is a free man or if his fate will be put in the hands of a jury. Winston Connor was arrested in early 2019 on numerous charges involving alleged crimes in three counties (Ottawa, Tulsa, and Pittsburg) where prosecutors said he worked with a prison gang leader on a murder for hire plot and a plot to assault a man who had stolen his secretary’s car in addition to recovering that car.

A Gang Violence Suppression Unit officer patrolling the 600 block of Canal Street on Monday, observed two 17-year-olds known to be gang members walking along the sidewalk, according to a Merced Police Department news release.
