An American Indian leader and police investigator said the shootings are likely linked to gang activity that has plagued the complex for years.

Using popular Internet acronyms and Web slang, members of Sur 13 and MLK, short for "Makin Life Krazy," exchanged vulgar putdowns online.

Arrest made in death of Somali (Minneapolis, MN) : A 20-year-old man suspected of killing a Somali woman in her apartment near downtown Minneapolis this month was arrested Saturday night in St. Cloud. Somali leaders in the Twin Cities said Sunday that the suspect, who has not been charged, probably is tied to a growing Somali gang problem.

Nampa police say Saturday night killing related to shooting last week (Nampa, ID): The killing of a man found shot to death near a downtown parking lot may be related to a drive-by shooting last weekend at a Nampa apartment building, according to police. Police found 28-year-old Edward Archuleta, who'd been shot in the chest, on Saturday night.

Stamford man killed outside Bethel party (Bethel, CT): A Stamford man was fatally shot early Saturday morning outside a birthday party in Bethel. Darnell Merritt, 21, was shot four times in the back at about 1:45 a.m. as he left the Masonic Lodge, which was rented out for a party.

Teen charged with having gun at scene of Providence slaying (Providence, RI): A Cranston teenager, who police say has ties to the Latin Kings gang, has been arrested and charged with having a gun at a house party where a young man was fatally shot. Julio Morel, 18, was charged Friday with possession of a firearm without a license.

Suspect arrested in gang-related shooting (Reno, NV): A shooting suspect who Carson City deputies said was involved in a gang-related shooting three days ago was arrested Friday evening. Rigoberto Vega-Aguilar, 23, of Carson City was found at about 6:30 p.m. in the home of a friend on Century Circle, sheriff Ken Furlong said.
