Fall River gets boost in grant to keep kids away from gangs (Fall River, MA): The city is receiving a minor boost in funding to help keep kids away from gangs. The office of Gov. Deval Patrick announced Fall River will receive $280,000 through the Charles E. Shannon Community Safety Initiative Grant. The funding is a $5,000 increase from the city’s allocation during the previous fiscal year.

Police: Teen injured as bullets fly in neighborhood shooting (San Antonio, TX): It was a terrifying Wednesday evening on the west side as neighbors ducked to avoid flying bullets.
