Erasing signs of gang life (Toronto, ON): On Tuesday, Conservative MP Parm Gill of Brampton-Springdale introduced Bill C-394, legislation that would make targeting someone for recruitment into a street gang a crime. The bill, first proposed back in February, would have netted several arrests for Tausif Rahman, a 15-year-old from Malton, Ont., who was first inducted into a gang at 12.

Lorain police sweep 13 violent gang members off streets - suspects tied to nine murders over four years (Lorain, OH): Thirteen of the city’s most violent gang members were rounded up by police and jailed yesterday, Lt. Mark Carpentiere said. Police said not only have they made the streets safer for residents and themselves, they are looking at many of the suspects for involvement in nine murders in the city.

25 people arrested in Tri-Cities gang sweep (Kennewick, WA) : Twenty-five people were arrested this week in a Tri-Cities gang sweep. "This was the seventh gang sweep since the first in July 2009 and one of the most successful. I have to commend all our partners.
