Falls police shut down one-man crime spree (Niagara Falls, NY): Falls police have charged a mid-town gang member with a laundry list of felonies and misdemeanors after a a series of incidents that included an assault on a man, a fight with a police officer where a gun was fired and an escape from custody from the emergency room of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Anderson sheriff, police department get grants (Anderson, SC): It was unusual for two law enforcement agencies in the same county to be awarded money from the same grant, says Assistant U.S. Attorney Stacey Haynes. The two grants — money for a gang investigator for the sheriff’s office and training in dealing with Hispanic populations for the city police — are independent of each other, although each will benefit the Gang Task Force that is run by the two agencies.
