Pasadena’s Reported Crime Rate Drops 15% (Pasadena, CA): Despite an increase in gun violence since late 2015, the reported crimes rate for Pasadena has dropped 15% so far this year, according to a report just issued by the Pasadena Police Department. According to the Pasadena Police Department Monthly Statistical Report, there were 1,376 crimes reported to the police through the month of April of this year. This compares with 1,618 crimes reported over the same time period last year.

Chattanooga youth take aim at local violence, paint over graffiti (Chattanooga, TN): Three students are defying threats of violence and shootings by painting over gang graffiti in Chattanooga neighborhoods. The group, made up of three home-schooled students, spray-painted over the graffiti on buildings in Highland Park, Avondale, East Lake and East Chattanooga this month after the city experienced 14 homicides and more than 60 shootings this year.
