Convicted Felon Sentenced to 11 Years Imprisonment for Aggravated Assault of a Federal Employee and Discharge of a Firearm (Memphis, TN): Bernard M. Jones, 35, has been sentenced to 132 months in federal prison for aggravated assault of a federal employee and discharge of a firearm. Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph C. Murphy Jr., announced the sentence today. Jones, a convicted felon, is also a member of the Gangster Disciples Street Gang, and as a result of his prior felony conviction history, is prohibited by federal law from possession of firearms or ammunition.

Felon Gang Member Arrested By Border Patrol (Calexico, CA): U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a gang member Tuesday night. The incident occurred at approximately 9:24 p.m., when agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested a man for illegally entering the United States. Agents apprehended the man approximately one mile east of the downtown Calexico Port of Entry and transported him to the El Centro Sector Rally Point for immigration and criminal history screening.
