HSI-led MS-13 takedown announced by White House: Gang members included national MS-13 leadership, indictments for firearms, drug distribution, "Kingpin" statute, other offenses (Washington, DC): An investigation led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Las Vegas resulted in the criminal arrest of 11 members and associates of MS-13 Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Los Angeles, California. Another six MS-13 members and associates were also arrested on administrative charges, with criminal charges pending in five of the six cases, for a total of 17 MS-13 arrests made Tuesday in the two cities.

Police arrest alleged teen gang member for firearm violation (Oxnard, CA): Oxnard police arrested a 17-year-old alleged gang member Thursday evening for various firearm violations. The teen was pulled over for a traffic violation on South J Street at Linden Drive in Oxnard. Officers learned he was on probation for assault with a deadly weapon and proceeded to search his residence.

Gun violence in Kalamazoo refuses to take a back seat to COVID-19, BLM or other issues (Kalamazoo, MI): The number of shooting incidents in the city of Kalamazoo have risen by 81 percent through the first seven months of the year, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. From Jan. 1 through Monday (Aug. 3), some 42 people have been shot in the city. The last was shot on Monday.

United Blood Gang Member Sentenced for Firearm Possession (Raleigh, NC): A Raleigh Blood Gang member was sentenced today to 66 months’ imprisonment for illegally possessing a firearm in Raleigh. According to court documents, Emmanuel Brent Sanders, 25, was named in a one-count Indictment filed in the Eastern District of North Carolina on August 22, 2019. The Indictment charged Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. On January 7, 2020, the defendant pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
