Mount Vernon 'Goonies' gang charged with racketeering, weapons, drug sales (Mount Vernon, NY): Eight members of the Mount Vernon-based gang known as the "Goonies" were indicted and charged with racketeering, narcotics and firearms offenses, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

Feds arrest 30 alleged gang members and associates (Atlanta, GA): A total of 30 members of the Nine Trey Gangster Bloods gang and their associates were indicted last week. U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said in a news release Thursday that the charges stem from drug distribution and violent acts, mostly against the gang’s own members.

Cathedral City police arrested 5 and seized 13 illegal weapons during a raid on a street gang (Cathedral City, CA): Five suspects were arrested early Thursday during a raid on a Cathedral City street gang. Operation Desert Wolf II targeted members of the Barrio Dream Homes gang, which is based in the Dream Homes neighborhood on the west side of the city. The operation, which kicked off 5:30 a.m., targeted members believed to be involved in violent crimes over the past two years, police said.

“Rival Impact” Gang Member Charged In Brooklyn Federal Court With Double Homicide (Brooklyn, NY): Nabiu Mansaray, a member of a Coney Island-based gang known variously as “Mermaid Boys,” “Mermaids,” “Rival Impact,” “R.I.,” and “33rd Street Crew,” will be arraigned this afternoon in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, on a superseding indictment charging him with crimes including racketeering, murder in aid of racketeering, narcotics trafficking and unlawful use of firearms.
